[ He pushes himself off the wall when he sees her, offering a nod and the trace of a smile. ]

Me? No, no- it was already doing this when I got here. Can't seem to find any source.

[ She almost laughs, ]

So it's just... playing? Literally "music in the air"?

[el_paso]

Literally. What, [ he asks her, aside, ] is it too old for you?

[greyate]

[ She scrunches her nose at him for that comment. For shame, Logan. ]

"Too old"? If Mozart isn't too old why would this be? It's got a good beat.

[el_paso]

[ Logan chuckles at her, genuine. ]

This is stuff we listened to back in the forties. Hm. Glenn Miller. [ referencing the latest song piping in. ]

Now these guys are some of the forefathers of rock.

[greyate]

[ She grins at the song, recognizing it. ]

I know this one. When I would do my homework in the Professor's office, a few of these songs would slip in on the radio. I always liked this one.

[ But she nods in agreement, ]

I believe it.

[ She still likes her pop songs but she can appreciate good music, no matter its age. She leans over slightly to bump her arm against his playfully. ]

Did you just want me to come listen to music with you?

Well-

[ She gets a slight bump back, and a perk of his brow. ]

Thought you might like the change from the Walkman. You wanna grab a seat, or cut a rug?

[ He's totally kidding on that last one, pfft. ]

[greyate]

[ She looks over at him more fully, brows up, ]

You know how to dance?

[ Yes, she's being a little smart-ass. Feel free to call her out on it, Logan. ]

Yeah.

[ Well now he's a little defensive. ]

I'm gonna pretend I'm not offended by that.

[greyate]

[ A laugh bursts out, Jean being pretty bad at keeping a straight face anyway. ]

It was a joke!

Besides, I never have actually seen you dance so...

[ She shrugs. ]

[ You do, he almost tells her, in violation of the promise he made to himself: don't say shit about the future. The thought hovers out there regardless, while he tugs up his sleeves. ]

That's it. C'mere.

[greyate]

[ For a brief moment, she almost catches it. There's something, muffled against her mental walls, not able to make it out before he's rolling his sleeves up and she's thoroughly distracted, another laugh leaving her but more in disbelief, ]

...what?

[ Does he... oh. ]

You want to dance? Seriously? I don't know how to dance to this stuff...

That's why I'm gonna teach you.

[ Take his hand, Jean. Logan adds, unable to resist: ]

It's not like you'll break my toes if you step on 'em, anyway.

[greyate]

[ She still stares at him in disbelief but the added comment has her scoffing good-naturedly. She's still not sure this will end well - sometimes she's felt like she has two left feet - but she finally takes the offered hand. ]

Small consolation with how I'm about to embarrass myself.

[el_paso]

[ He snorts, as he brings her other hand up to his shoulder-- pressing lightly, not gripping! --before placing his at the small of her back. ]

You think I was any good the first time I learned?

[greyate]

[ That gets her to smile a little more, letting him position her because like hell if she knows the correct way. ]

I don't know. Were you?

[el_paso]

I was shit. That's why I practiced.

[ Leading, he just rocks in time with the music, letting her get accustomed to the motion. ]

[greyate]

[ The laugh came easily at that, whatever tension that remained finally easing up some. She starts moving with him, ]

You better not be saying that just to make me feel better. I could totally see you being a natural. Maybe not Gene Kelly levels but you know. Close.
