[Okay, so there's a hypocritical thing going on and Peter's aware but he still feels like there's a big enough divide between the two. He takes pause because he's still angry and confused, with hardly anyone explaining shit to him he's supposed to somehow know while simultaneously not giving him much time here to catch on to things. He just found out his dad's here, his other-universe twin has an accent, Charles is from the past and there are doppelgangers and aliens and motherfucking space to get used to.]

Erik knowing I'm his kid =/= Charles knowing the world almost ended on account of some blue prick leeching his power, terrorizing the world by turning his old friend against him, nearly killing his sister and several other mutants who were there to help after trashing his house?

One thing sounds more important on account of the goddamn world almost ending. Erik will find out eventually and that's fine. But him not knowing right now isn't putting a pair of blinders on him to what has impacted the lives of every other mutant on earth. That's... that's history? Me existing as the unknown bastard son doesn't compare. But I give you points there, I'm a walking & talking hypocrite.
